Alternatively, you can duplicate a layer by clicking and dragging the layer to the new layer icon at the bottom right corner of your workspace (A small square with a plus sign in the center).
Transform
It’s now time to create the perspective shift adjustments to the image. Make sure the top layer is selected.
Transform Perspective
Go to Edit > Transform > Perspective.
Depending on the image will determine how much to transform the image. Click on the top left transform point on your image and drag up. You will notice the perspective of the image will change.
Pay attention to the numerical height value that your drag up is creating. Aim for a number between 103% – 108%. Make note of this number.
Repeat
Hide the top layer that you just edited and click on the second duplicate layer underneath the top
Repeat the perspective transform but this time click on the top right transform point on your image and drag up. Make sure that the numerical value is the same or as close as possible to the number of the first edit that you made note of. In our case 106.57%.
Channel Mode
Unhide the top layer. Double click on the Layer thumbnail to open the Layer Style options box.
Under the Channels section, uncheck the R (Red) checkbox and press OK.
(Unchecking another channel mode leaving a different combination of active channels will give a different color effect, feel free to experiment to see which effect works best for you).
Nudge
All that’s left is to move the top layer so that it aligns better with the bottom layer by nudging it to the left until we are happy with the result. The higher the numerical value was when dragging the perspective (103% – 108%) the more you will have to realign the layers.
Glitchy
You’re done! All that’s left is (depending on your image after realigning the layers) is to crop the sides of your image where there is no top layer active if you are left with any unwanted bits. Congratulations you’ve made it to the end of the tutorial and most importantly have learned how to create a Perspective Glitch Effect in Photoshop.
